Best way to lose fat: diet or exercise

Since obesity has become a major health issue, no one wants to be fat or obese. Somehow we will gain weight and we will try to find ways to lose it, it’s not possible with all the food available not to put on weight.

Most of us will work on reducing his/her weight at least once and its important to know losing weight is just a simple math equation, the sort of addition and subtraction.

When you eat more than your need you will gain weight and when you control your diet and eat in moderation you will manage your weight. There is nothing more important and critical for losing weight than controlling your eating habit.

To burn 380 calories from medium french fries you need 40 minutes of running, this shows how important is diet control because the amount of calories we can add is easier and faster than the process of getting rid of it.

Intermittent fasting or calorie restriction?

It’s important also to know diet control is not depriving yourself from food and fighting with hunger, it does not work this way. In a study by Journal of Nutrition comparing intermittent fasting to caloric restriction, with caloric restriction subjects lost 1.25kg of body weight in a month while with intermittent fast the fat loss was only 473g

There are many diet plans around, stick to the one that appeal to you and benefit your health. What worked for your friend might not work for you, choose a plan you can implement and stick to.

Exercise and Leptin

Our body burns fat when we exercise (active) and while resting (doing nothing), when you exercise the intensity of it will determine how many calories you’ve burned, while resting its a hormone called Leptin that control your metabolic rate.

It’s not possible to be active the whole day and since we spend more time resting its critical that resting metabolic rate is not low so our body burn fat more and not less.

Leptin is  a hormone produced by body fat, it sends signal to the brain when you are full and when you are hungry, it’s the controller. Too much or too little Leptin is not good for our health and with exercise we can help our body to produce healthy amount of Leptin.

Exercise not only good for losing weight without doubt, it’s the medicine for more than 30 diseases and in future it will be used as treatment method.
